Collage

Using a gelli plate and acrylic paints, I print each piece of paper used in my collages, by hand, through a process called monoprinting. Working in this medium reignited something in me, and is where I am currently spending most of my creative time. Those monoprinted papers create a painterly effect, and I often layer papers so that shapes beneath the surface become visible when viewed from just the right angle, like secrets. My color choices and design style are typically vibrant takes on nature with folk art influences. I think of these as paper illustrations.
